I daresay - and I am not alone in this opinion - that    S.Lishanskiy's artistic explorations are entirely original. ... His works don't carry any associations with paintings by other artists.   He can and will skillfully interpret and explore the potential of dark shades.    And whereas dark - black and brown - backgrounds of classical English and Dutch paintings have always emanated waves of cold at me, depressed me and caused melancholic moods,  Lishanskiy's dark brush radiates cheerful vitality .     "...He is extremely laconic with colours...   ...he can form an entire composition with just one colour, creating a powerful effect."
